Bettas can be observed playing in the beads, diving in and out, similar to a fun ball pit.
The beneficial bacteria in the beads aid in maintaining a balanced environment, while the enzymes help break down organic sludge, leading to better water clarity. This helps to maintain a healthy aquarium for bettas. For optimal results, it is recommended to replace the beads monthly and remove any uneaten food.
If the betta beads prematurely shrink, it indicates that the water hardness is not optimal for the betta. In such cases, it is suggested to change the water with soft (deionized or specially filtered) betta waters.
